| The Retezat Mountains, in Romanian - MunÃâºii Retezat, are one of the highest massifs in Romania. The Retezat Mountains are part of the Southern Carpathians, the Retezat-Godeanu mountain group. The most important part of the massif is made up mainly of crystalline rocks and is called Retezatul Mare; the southern part, with developed relief and in more important limestone masses, is called Retezatul Mic. Piule-Iorgovanu Mountains are known in the tourist literature as Retezatul Mic. They join near Lake Bucura. Scorota is one of the valleys that cross the mountain. Scorota Gorges Romania, Europe. |
