This round large structure was built in 1969 storing the remains of cremated victims collected into a mound after the liberation of the camp in 1944. It was actually a Nazi concentration & extermination camp built and operated by the SS The Schutzstaffel on the outskirts of Lublin city during the German occupation of Poland in World War II. It is now Majdanek State Museum, first museum of its kind in the world, which is a memorial museum and education centre founded in the fall of 1944.
