Located in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, China, Blue Moon Lake is a famous scenic spot in Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area. The predecessor of Blue Moon Lake was Baishui River, which originated from the melting snow and ice on the snow capped mountains, flowing down the cliffs and continuously converging into mountain streams and creeks, ultimately forming a lake in the upper reaches of Blue Moon Valley. The Blue Moon Valley is crescent shaped, and from a distance, it looks like a blue moon embedded under a snowy mountain. In the Blue Moon Valley, due to the obstruction of mountains, four lakes have formed, known as Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake, and Tingtao Lake. The lake water of Blue Moon Lake is a faint, clear and transparent blue. Under the shade of green trees, the majestic snow capped mountains also become its background, beautiful and breathtaking.
