Manilkara zapota, commonly known as sapodilla is an evergreen tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. It can grow to more than 30 m (98 ft) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 1.5 m (5 ft). The average height of cultivated specimens, however, is usually between 9 and 15 m (30 and 49 ft) with a trunk diameter not exceeding 50 cm (20 in)
