| The Atlantic breakers roll in, on a bleak day of low cloud, at Sandwood bay in the far northwest of Scotland.This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited, and this picture does not fully do justice. Until the Cape Wrath lighthouse became active in 1828, this beach saw many shipwrecks, and is reputed to be haunted. It certainly has an erie atmosphere, The area is remote, and is reached by a four mile hike over moorlands. If you ever get chance to visit here, do it! |
