| Rukam fruit or rukem (Flacourtia rukam) is a species of flowering tree which is usually crooked and gnarled, the stems are thorny, up to 15 meters high, the wood is very hard, used as coconut milk and horse-drawn poles, the fruit is bitter and tastes astringent.[1] The fruit can be eaten fresh or processed into jam. Before eating, the rukam fruit needs to be massaged on the outside so that the astringent taste disappears. These herbs also have medicinal properties.[2] This plant is less popular, which is becoming rare because it is rarely planted and cultivated |
