Built by convict labourers between 1813 and 1818, Rouse Hill House & Farm is a historic building and farm in Rouse Hill, NSW Australia. Thirteen hectares of 19th-century rural property with a neo-classical sandstone house, farm outbuildings, paddocks and the remnants make one of the earliest gardens in Australia. Six generations of Rouse and Terry families occupied Rouse Hill House & Farm from its construction in the early 1800s until the late 1990s, when it opened as a museum. Each one left its mark, adding to rather than erasing evidence of those who lived there before, forming a richly textured series of interiors, landscapes, keepsakes and memories.
