Pictured is a bronze sculpture titled `Rosa Parks` by artist Erik Blome. It is located in the West End DART Station at 301 N. Lamar Street in downtown Dallas. It is the second casting of three. Rosa Louise McCauley Parks February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005 was an American activist in the civil rights movement best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. She refused to give up her seat in the colored section to a white passenger, after the whites-only section was filled. A quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is seen in the background.
