| The beautiful rapids Kiutaköngäs of the Oulankajoki ( Patoniva) are one of the major attractions in the Oulanka Naional Park. They can be reached walking only 10 or 15 minutes from the park's main entrance. They are especially beautiful on sunny days when the rock walls are being illuminated by the sun and hence are glowing red-orange. The sky is clear and blue. In that low altitude drone image the rapids are being focused on. They form the biggest part of the photo. The rock plateau in the central upper right can be walked on and here one can sense the vibrations of the mighty stream through the feet. Photographed before midday in August. |
