Pictured is the remains of the Mortuary Temple on the north side of the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Egypt. The Mortuary Temple was where the cult of the deceased Djoser was practiced. The Step Pyramid was built in the 27th century BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. Its architect was Imhotep, chancellor of the pharaoh and high priest of the god Ra. It is part of an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
