The Redipuglia War Memorial, also known as the Redipuglia Military Memorial, near Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in north-eastern Italy, is an imposing and touching tribute to the Italian soldiers who lost their lives during the First World War. Designed by architect Giovanni Greppi and inaugurated in 1938, this grandiose memorial complex is the largest of its kind in Italy and houses the remains of over 100,000 fallen soldiers. Located on the Karst plateau near the village of Fogliano Redipuglia, the monument serves as a solemn commemoration to the sacrifices made during the eleven battles that were fought on the Isonzo Front
