| Nürburg is the name of a castle and village in the Eifel. Derived from it the name Nürburgring was created in the early 20th century. Nordschleife is part of the originally 1927 built Nürburgring in the Eifel. The Nordschleife was a formula one track until the 1970s, nowadays only few race take place there. Tourist can drive on the famous race track and car tests are performed here. Apart from the 24 hours, the hiking trail along the track is always open to any visitors. In winter the track is closed, but the ways around are populated, by humans and animals. |
