| Rapid impact compaction (RIC) is a technique similar to Dynamic Compaction in that can be used to increase the bearing capacity of soils through controlled impact. RIC treatment is effective in the top layers up to 6m depth, but improvements up to 9m have been achieved. A drop weight of 12 tonne is dropped 1.5m onto a special foot assembly 40-60 times a minute. |
