| Ramakien (The Ramakien is Thailand's national epic, based on, and very similar to, India's Ramayana epic. The influence of the Ramakien of Thai culture is pervasive - its story is the basis for much of the traditional dance, drama and theater, while its colourful characters are the inspiration for many forms of art and sculpture. Bangkok's à ¸§à ¸±à ¸âà ¸žà ¸£à ¸°à ¹Âà ¸Âà ¹â°Ã ¸§ (Emerald Buddha temple) is perhaps the best example of this; it features the story in impressive murals inside the temple complex, and many of the statues and figurines there are characters from the Ramakien.) |
