Ramakien (The Ramakien is Thailand's national epic, based on, and very similar to, India's Ramayana epic. The influence of the Ramakien of Thai culture is pervasive - its story is the basis for much of the traditional dance, drama and theater, while its colourful characters are the inspiration for many forms of art and sculpture. Bangkok's วัดพระแก้ว (Emerald Buddha temple) is perhaps the best example of this; it features the story in impressive murals inside the temple complex, and many of the statues and figurines there are characters from the Ramakien.)
