This is a Spring picture of the raising of DuSable Bridge on Michigan Avenue over the Chicago River located in Chicago, Illinois in Cook County. The bridge is raised and lowered in the Spring to allow large sailboats to enter Lake Michigan for the season. This 399-foot Bridge is an example of a Double-leaf, Double-Deck, Fixed Bridge, it opened on May 11, 1920. This bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 1978 and declared a Chicago Landmark on October 2, 1991. This picture was taken on May 4, 2019.
