| Koosah Falls on the McKenzie River in the Oregon Cascade Mountains. The falls drop about 65 feet over a wide, undercut lava flow. Koosah is an Indian name meaning sky. The falls are located on the western side of the Cascade Mountains about 65 miles east of Eugene along highway 126 in old-growth timber. The falls were formed about 3,000 years ago when lava flowed across the river from a nearby volcano. |
