SÃÂ¨te is an important port city in the south-east of France, located in Occitanie. It is bordered by the Etang de Thau, a saltwater lagoon which is home to various animal species. Along a narrow isthmus, the Mediterranean coast of SÃÂ¨te is made up of sandy beaches. The summit of Mont Saint-Clair offers a view of the city, also called the `Venice of Languedoc` because of its network of canals.
