| The cruiser Costa Concordia in the harbour of the Italian city of Savona before this ship ran aground near the island of Giglio. In the front the Leon Pancaldo Tower also known as the Torretta, a lookout in ancient times, and nowadays the symbol of the city. It was called Torre della Quarda in past time; therefore, it was called Torre Leon Pancaldo in a sailor's honour: Leon Pancaldo sailed with Magellano during the first circumnavigation of the latter. |
