Purandara Mandapa looking towards Chandramouleshwara Temple over Tungabhadra River, Hampi. Chandramouliswara Temple is located on the north bank of Tungabadhra River, in the Rishimukh Island. Constructed during the 13th century, this temple had been an important place of worship during the peak days of Vijayanagara kings. The pavilion is located at the river shore near Vittala Temple. This is one of the areas at Hampi where people perform religious rituals. Purandara Mandapa pavilion is almost at the edge of the river that during monsoon the river water touches the platform or even submerges it.
