Also known as the Red Tree Shrub or mali-mali puchok merah in Malay, Leea rubra is a semi-woody shrub that is native to Australia and South-east Asia. Often grown as an ornamental, parts of the plants are used for medicinal purposes, for example the roots as an antipyretic Thailand, against stomach-ache, rheumatism and arthritis Indo-China and the fruits are eaten as a remedy against yaws and dysentery Java.
