Pictured is the Portico of the Spain Hall of Transportation along the Esplanade in Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The 20 foot female statue was designed by Lawrence Tenney Stevens. The murals inside were painted by Carlo Ciampaglia. When the Hall of Varied Industries on the opposite side of the Esplanade was destroyed by fire in 1942, the murals in the Porticos of the Hall of Transportation were painted over. The exact year remains a mystery but it was renamed The Centennial Building. In 1999 the exterior was repainted and the Art Deco murals representing transportation were restored by Fine Art Conservation Laboratories.
