| A pair of 1:43 die cast models of Porsche prototypes the pink 1971 Pink Pig model and the silver 356 race car. Porsche 917 was for long time the ultimate endurance competitor thanks also to the regulations changes that in 1972 imposed 3000cc engines for endurance prototypes. The record set at Le mans in 1971 by Helmut Marko and Gijs Van Lennep resisted for nearly 40 years beaten only in 2010 by Audi R15 TDI. After their retirement from the World Sportscar Championship at the end of 1971, Porsches 917 were modified and continued racing in various variants in Can Am, IMSA and WSC again till the early eighties |
