Award winning, trailblazing documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles arrives on the red carpet for the HBO documentary films production, `Smash His Camera.`a made-for-tv film about pugnacious, controversial celebrity photographer Ron Galella; Manhattan; June 1, 2010. Galella would often stalk his subjects seeking unusual expressions and usually eschewing the traditional red carpet, set piece which yielded contrived or predictable expressions. Maysles called his own technique, for many years done in partnership with his brother who predeceased him, `direct cinema.` Albert Maysles died at 88 on March 5, 2015.
