| The Ponta de São Lourenço is Madeira islandââ¬â¢s easternmost tip. It boasts spectacular coastal scenery, and is one of the few remnant undeveloped areas in the otherwise densely urbanised southern coast of the island. Due to its ecological importance, it is a Natural Reserve, encompassed in Madeiraââ¬â¢s Natural Park ââ¬ÅParque Natural da Madeiraââ¬Â. It is possible to walk almost its entire length following a well-marked short-distance hiking path, the Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço, or PR8. |
