| Perched across the Seine River,and surrounded by a breathtaking view,it was no wonder that the Pont des Arts was adopted as the Love Lock. Bridge near Notre Dame de Paris,France. Though the Pont des Arts was once a place where love birds could express their amour for each other by placing heavy metal locks on the bridge. 2015 there were an estimated 700,000 padlocks on the bridge,which equalled the weight of 20 elephants. The bridge couldn't survive and the Town Hall was forced to remove them in 2015 after part of the bridge collapse. It is now forbidden by law and controlled by the local police authority to place a love lock on the famous bridge |
