One of the doors of the Church of St. Francis, made of solid wood and wrought iron. The Franciscans likely settled in Zagreb before the Mongol invasion of 1242, presumably in the area of an abandoned Benedictine monastery. Initially, the Zagreb monastery belonged to the Hungarian Province of St. Mary and was the center of the Zagreb Custody, which included monasteries in Virovitica, Našice, Požega, Kostajnica, and the monastery in the area of today's Kloštar Podravski from the late 14th to the early 16th century. In the 17th century, the Zagreb monastery became the central house of the newly established Illyrian Custody of St. Ladislaus King, soon becoming a province. By 1900, it became the seat of the provincial of the Croatian Franciscan Province of St. Cyril and Methodius
