| Or, more correctly, Hippopotami, being the plural of Hippopotamus. The collective noun for a group of Hippopotamus is a `bloat`, `pod`, `dale` or `herd`. Personally, I love the word `bloat` when applied to these fat creatures..! Here is a bloat of Hippopotamus, some in water, some on land and one in particular charging into the water, creating a splash. See if you can count 23 heads - or parts of heads - in the photograph, taken at Masai Mara, Kenya, at the Mara River. |
