De Plaats is a square in the center of The Hague. The square has the shape of an isosceles triangle. It used to look bigger than it is now because there were no busy traffic routes and because there were fewer buildings. The `round pit` has been filled up again and the Plaats is now a nightlife square with terraces and restaurants. On DE PLAATS is a large statue of the most famous victim Johan de Witt.
