The Durrenstein, in Italian: Picco di Vallandro, is a 2839 m high mountain in the Pragser Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. It rises in the mountain ridge between the Pragser Valley and the Hohlenstein Valley and is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park. The Durrenstein can be reached in an easy mountain tour, which does however require surefootedness, via the Platzwiese alpine pasture area (around 2000 m) with the Durrenstein Hut. Alternatively, the ascent can be made from the Im Gemark pass at an altitude of 1530 m. The Durrenstein is a very popular destination for many ski tourers or snowshoe hikers, especially in winter, who either climb directly from Bruckele in Prags or from the Platzwiese. To the east of the Durrenstein is the summit of the Helltaler Schlechten, which is also very popular for winter tours.
