Buddha, born with the name Siddhartha Gautama, was a teacher, philosoper, and spiritual leader who is considered the founder of Buddhism. He lived and taughte in the region around the border of modern day Nepal and India sometime between the 6th and 4th century BC, the name Buddha means `one who is awakened` or `enlightened one` SOmeone who has awakened from the sleep of ignorance and sees things as they really are . A Buddha is a person who is completely free from all faults and and mental obstructions. There are many peopl ewho have become Buddhas in the past and many peope will become Buddhas in the future.
