| Dancer and choreographer Peter Gennaro was nervously monitoring the production of `Annie,` at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, in 1977. The musical was getting all the kinks out in preparation for its run on Broadway a few months hence. As it turned out Gennaro had little to worry about as the production earned 11 nominations in 1977, and hauled away 7 Tonys, including one for Gennaro, Best Choreography in a Musical. Peter Gennaro died in New York City on September 28, 2000, ant the age of 80. |
