Neurilemmomas or schwannomas are rare benign tumours of slow growth derived from the peripheral nerve sheath and composed of perineural Schwann cells proliferating in a characteristic pattern. Schwannomas are composed of cellular Antoni A areas alternating with hypocellular Antoni B areas. The micrograph shows an Antoni A area composed of interlacing bundles of spindle cells
