The Sierra de Almijara is a mountainous formation of white and gray landscapes and dolomitic limestone soils, belonging to the Cordillera Penibética which straddles the province of Malaga and of Granada (Spain). Along with Tejeda and Alhama is a limestone massif which makes physical border between the two provinces, separating the Axarquía Depression of Granada. In these mountains is the natural park of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama.
