The mountain top is on the Greek-Macedonian border near Florina (Greece) and Bitola ( Macedonia / FYROM). The battle of Kajmakchalan was a famous WWI battle and was fought between 12 and 30 September 1916, between the Serbian army and the Bulgarian army.
