| Schalkenmehrener Maar is a caldera lake (Maar in German) at the village Schalkenmehren near Daun in the Eifel. The volcanic landscape with several hills and valley has many of these volcano lakes, they are call Maar. The Dauner Maare are three calderas rather close, Schalkenmehrener Maar is one of them and the only with a village right at the water. |
