| The location of this lighthouse is : at the end of the jetty from Sandspit Marina at the entrance to the Patchogue River at coordinates: N 40° 44' 47.5, W 73° 0' 57.7. The current lighthouse was first lit in 2019.The lighthouse is a white tapered tower. The tower has a single-flashing red light. The light has a focal plane height of 18 ft above mean high water. The tower height is 22 ft. The light has a period of 5 seconds. Its Identification number is: 1-29765 (U.S.) As a sentinel it helps boats and ferries navigate out into the Great south bay separating Long Island from Fire Island. |
