The Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel is a Greek-Catholic church in Plopis village. The church is located in Tara Chioarului, in the Cavnic valley and was built by the Greek-Catholic community of the village between 1796-1805 from beams assembled in the "Blockbau" system. The church from Plopis took over the architectural elements of the wooden church from Surdesti. The Plopis church has many particularities that give it a touch of uniqueness and technical achievement. The remarkable volumetric composition is emphasized by decorative sculptural accents, such as the torus-shaped girdle or the frieze of blind arches below the eaves, recalling the decoration of Romanesque-style architecture.
