Baima Snow Mountain, also known as Baimang Snow Mountain, has its main peak Zhala Queni Peak, with an altitude of 5640m. It is the second highest peak in Yunnan Province (not the second highest independent peak) and is located in Deqin County, Yunnan Province. It covers an area of 190144 hectares and was approved by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government in 1983. In 1988, it was promoted to national level. Its main protected objects are high-altitude coniferous forests, natural landscapes of mountain vegetation vertical zones, and Yunnan golden monkeys.
