Saw Palmetto, Serenoa repens, flower panicles. Saw Palmetto grows densely in the upland pine areas and hammocks of the Okefenokee Swamp. It is endemic to the coastal plain of the southeastern United States. It has a reported medical use for treatment and prevention of prostate cancer. Photographed on Billy`s Island.
