Pan Shan is one of the first five A-level scenic spots in China and a national-level scenic area. It is located 12 kilometers west of Jizhou City, Tianjin. It is a remnant of the Yanshan Mountain Range and covers an area of 110.9 square kilometers. The scenery of Pan Shan is beautiful and has a long history. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, it was renowned both at home and abroad as the first mountain in the North China region. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was ranked among the fifteen major scenic spots in China along with Mount Tai and Mount Huangshan.
