The pampiniform plexus is a complex of many small veins formed by the union of multiple testicular veins from the back of the testis. It is located in the male spermatic cord. In addition to venous return from the testes, this plexus also has a temperature regulation function, acting as a countercurrent heat exchanger, cooling blood in adjacent arteries
