Photographic reproduction of a painting by Maurice Utrillo published in an old Italian magazine, Epoca, in 1961. Utrillo was one of the few famous painters of Montmartre actually born in the neighborhood. He was the natural son of the French painter and model Suzanne Valadon (born Marie-Clémentine Valadon) who, at the time of birth was eighteen years old and posed for various artists, never revealed who the child's father was. Some conjectures wanted him to be born from the relationship with a young unknown painter named Boissy, while others gave him the son of Pierre Puvis de Chavannes or even Pierre-Auguste Renoir. In 1891, Miquel Utrillo, a Catalan artist, signed a legal document in which he recognized his authorship, but it is not known if he was actually the father. (Wikipedia)
