This photo was taken in February 1995 in the region of Loikaw. This is an isolated part of Myanmar (former Burma) off-limits to foreigners. I was lucky to obtain a permit for a couple of days .... which was and still is very rare. This is an older lady of the Padaung Tribe living in her traditional village. Putting on brass coils around the neck is a tradition since childhood. They are better known as long necks or giraffe necks.
