| Pacer diesel multiple unit number 142024 waits at platform 6 at Carlisle railway station ready for service 5Z12, the 16:00 from Carlisle to Appleby on Friday 24th March 2017. This unit was running a special service in preparation for the reopening of the famous Settle to Carlisle on 31st March 2017 and testing the recently relaid track at Eden Brows after the landslip that had caused the closure of this section of line for over a year. At the rear on the adjacent platform 5 is a class 156 dmu with a train to Newcastle. |
