Established in 1941, Wat Kaen Lek, also spelt Wan Gan Lek, is a Buddhist temple in Phetchaburi city, Thailand, belonging to the Theravada Maha Nikaya order. It is located in the Khlong Krachaeng subdistrict, near the city centre, not far from the larger Wat Mahathat Worawihan temple complex. Phetchaburi has a long and rich history, which is reflected in the town`s art and architecture. Originally, a Mon city, it fell to the Khmer Empire in the 12th century and was later part of the Thai Sukhothai and Ayutthaya kingdoms.
