A macro front closeup of an Australian Papilionidae caterpillar called the Papilio Aegeus which feeds on plant food such as this orange citrus tree, lays its eggs and then turns into the Orchard Swallowtail Butterfly. When this caterpillar is disturbed, as seen here in this photograph, red fleshy prolegs or horns appear from the upper body and it also emits a terrible smell.
