The Orb Weaver Spider, Araneidae, being found in small fields to large forrest almost around the whole world, is considered as cosmopololitian. One of the interesting things about these spiders and their webs is, although it needs to be sticky in order to catch flying insets, the more sticky is added to the web, the easier it is for the insects to see the web, so it becomes a delicate balance of stickiness to web. They are able to tell if their catch is venomous, so first wrap it in more web before stinging it, so as not to be stung themselves. 27 September 2023.
