| This is an old windmill on the Swedish island of Ãland. The vast majority of today's Ãland windmills are stumb mills from the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century. With this type of mill the whole building is turned around against the wind so it was easier to mill grain. By the beginning of the 19th century 2000 mills of this type existed on Oland, today 350 remain. This one is in Lerkaka. |
