Sankt Goarshausen is one of the towns at the Rhine gorge near Loreley rock. The Loreley rock is also written Lorelei sometimes, historically several versions can be found. Still in modern days this narrow part of the Mittelrheintal is a rather dangerous river section. The whole Middle Rhine area is UNESCO world heritage and known for the castles. The Lorelei rock itself is connected with mysticism and a rather modern fairy tale based on originates in the 19th century.
