Mural entitled `King of NY,` at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Quincy Street, in the Bedford Stuyvesant, or Bed Stuy, neighborhood of Brooklyn honoring the late Christopher Wallace, better known as the Notorious B.I.G., Biggie, Biggie Smalls, Frank White, Big, or Big Poppa. Considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, the Notorious B.I.G. rose to fame in the 1990s only to be murdered in a drive-by shooting in 1997 at the age of twenty-four. Painted in 2015 by Rocko and Zimer of Spread Art NYC, `King of NY` was almost removed for a building renovation in 2017. However, thanks to a change of heart, the landlord decided to save the mural and it remains an important cultural landmark to this day, as conveyed in this photo by the tourist posing for pictures near the tribute.
